Gas gives you fireplace performance electric can't match: real combustion flame, high heat output rated in BTUs, and continuous run time with no recharge or reset. The tradeoff is installation complexity, which is why the right sub-type matters more here than with electric.

If you don't have an existing flue and don't want one, our Ventless Gas Fireplaces vent combustion byproducts directly into the room and need no chimney at all. If you do have venting available, or you're building new, our Direct Vent Gas Fireplaces pull outside air for combustion and vent through an exterior wall or roof, which is the standard choice for most new installs. And for patios, kitchens, or covered outdoor rooms, our Outdoor Gas Fireplaces are built for exposure to the elements.

Every model in this collection uses manufacturer-authorized ignition and control systems, whether that's millivolt, IPI (intermittent pilot ignition), or full electronic ignition. Monessen, Superior, Sierra Flame, and Majestic are all represented here, so the difference between models comes down to install type, BTU output, and whether the unit is single-sided, see-through, or multi-sided.

Key Advantages of Our Gas Fireplaces

  • High, Consistent Heat Output: Most models are rated well above what an electric unit can produce, with several in this collection exceeding 30,000 BTU.
  • Real Combustion Flame: Gas produces genuine flame movement and heat radiance, not a simulated effect.
  • Flexible Ignition Control: Millivolt, IPI, and electronic ignition options are available depending on whether you want a wall switch, remote, or app control.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between vent-free and direct vent?

Vent-free (ventless) units burn cleanly enough to release combustion byproducts directly into the room and need no chimney or exterior venting. Direct vent units draw outside air for combustion and exhaust through a sealed pipe to the exterior, which is required in some jurisdictions and preferred for higher-BTU installs.

Do I need a gas line installed before I order?

You'll need either a natural gas line or a liquid propane setup run to the install location before the fireplace can be connected. This is typically done by a licensed plumber or gas fitter, separate from the fireplace installation itself.

Can a gas fireplace be installed outdoors?

Yes, but only models specifically rated for outdoor use, like Majestic's Lanai and Courtyard series. These are built to handle exposure that indoor units aren't designed for.

What's the difference between millivolt and IPI ignition?

Millivolt uses a standing pilot light that stays lit continuously. IPI (intermittent pilot ignition) lights the pilot only when the fireplace is turned on, which uses less gas and is often required for units with a remote or wall switch.

Do these come with a warranty?

Yes, every unit we sell carries the manufacturer's warranty. Terms vary by brand, so check the individual product page or reach out to our support team for specifics on your model.
