How much space can the Allusion Edge heat?

The built-in heater delivers up to 5,000 BTUs, rated by the manufacturer to cover up to about 400 sq. ft. It's meant as supplemental warmth rather than a primary heat source.

Can I run the flame effect without the heat on?

Yes. The Allusion Edge includes a heat disengagement switch, so you can run the flame effect year-round with the heater switched off.

What wall thickness do I need for installation?

It requires a minimum framing depth of 5-1/2 inches, which fits a standard 2x6 wall, and can be finished with painted drywall, tile, shiplap, or smooth stone up to 1-1/2 inches thick.

Do the electrical requirements change between the 50", 60", 78", and 100" sizes?

No. Per SimpliFire's install manual, all four sizes are rated 120V/60Hz, 1500W, drawing about 12.5A, and each requires a dedicated minimum 15-amp circuit for both hard-wired and plug-in installations. Circuit sizing stays the same regardless of the unit's width.

Can this fireplace be installed without framing a wall, using the Boyd Build-Out Kit?

Yes, but only for the 50-inch size. The optional Boyd Build-Out Kit (Modern Farmhouse, part BOK-MF-ALLP50, or Ready-to-Finish, part BOK-RTF-ALLP50) is a pre-built surround that mounts onto an existing wall as an alternative to a framed, recessed install. It's sold separately, shares part numbers with the 50-inch Allusion Platinum kit, and is not offered for the 60", 78", or 100" sizes.

Is the Lighted Birch Log Set required, or is it just a decorative option?

Purely decorative. The fireplace ships complete with black glass embers and crystal media and runs fully without any add-ons. The Lighted Birch Log Set (SF-ALLE-BIRCH) is an optional accessory ordered separately for buyers who prefer a birch-log look over the standard ember bed.
