Both options work — this insert is rated for a standard 15-amp, 120V plug-in connection or a permanent hardwire connection. Plug-in is the simpler route for most installs; hardwiring requires a licensed electrician.

The Traditional Insert produces 5,000 BTU of supplemental heat (1,500 W) and is rated to heat spaces up to roughly 400 sq ft. It requires a dedicated 15-amp, 120V/60Hz grounded circuit — the same circuit works whether you plug it in or hardwire it.

SimpliFire (a Hearth & Home Technologies brand) backs this insert with a 2-year manufacturer warranty against defects in materials and workmanship, with HHT repairing, replacing, or refunding the unit at its discretion. The warranty excludes normal wear items like paint, batteries, and glass discoloration, and damage from improper installation, misuse, or unauthorized modification. Warranty registration and service go through your authorized SimpliFire dealer.

Always unplug the fireplace before cleaning. Dust the exterior with a soft cloth or vacuum, and wipe painted surfaces with a slightly damp cloth and mild detergent. Clean the glass front with a standard household glass cleaner applied to a cloth (never spray directly onto the unit) and dry with a lint-free cloth — avoid abrasive cleaners on glass or metal surfaces. The fan motor is factory-lubricated for life and needs no additional lubrication. Anything beyond routine cleaning should be handled by an authorized service technician.
