Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between this and the Superior VRE4300?

The VRE3200 offers a choice of white stacked or white herringbone interior liner and comes with a remote control standard, while the VRE4300 uses a wall switch instead of a remote. Dimensions, BTU range, and warranty are otherwise the same across both series.

What's the difference in BTU output between natural gas and propane?

Natural gas runs up to 45,000 BTU, while propane tops out at 41,000 BTU, on both the 36" and 42" sizes. Fuel type is set at the factory, so choose the correct variant for your gas supply.

Do I need a glass door for this fireplace?

No, it ships with stainless steel fire screens standard. A bi-fold glass door is available as an optional accessory if you want a more traditional enclosed look.

How do I protect this when it's not in use, or manage water in the opening?

An optional stainless steel weather cover, an optional brushed stainless steel hood to prevent water intrusion, and an optional drain pan to manage moisture are all available separately for outdoor protection.

What rough opening do I need for each size?

46 1/2" H x 42 3/4" W x 20 1/2" D for the 36" model, and 46 1/2" H x 48 3/4" W x 20 1/2" D for the 42" model. Both share the same 20 1/2" framing depth.

What's the warranty on this fireplace?

Superior backs this fireplace with a 20-year limited warranty, which is longer coverage than most vent-free outdoor gas fireplaces on the market.
