What Is Proposition 65?
California Proposition 65 (also known as the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986) requires businesses to provide warnings about significant exposures to certain chemicals that the State of California has identified as potentially causing cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm.
These warnings are required by California law, even when the risk of exposure is minimal or well below federal safety standards.
